The Aeri seems doubtful as you pick up and hold onto the egg. He shrugs off his worries and jumps circles around you energetically.

The forest in the valley you currently reside is dense and overgrown. It seems to be the healthiest one you've been in. You could attempt to explore the forest or you can ride the Aeri into the sky and decide from there.

The Little lockbox is wooden and slightly rotted. You go to open it and it opens easily.
Must never have been locked.
The contents on the inside are a few gold pieces and a lively black iron ring.

I eagerly take the gold, but hesitate at the ring. It might be cursed, and I wasn't risking the chance. Instead, I slip in in my pocket and start searching through the rubble again.
