"Oh, no." He glanced at the book cover. "I've already read it twice. I think my cousin took my other books." He scratched his head, looking at Kerri."

"He called me 'Fluffer'."

Nemir's smile remained but it was obvious it was a little strained.
"Technically, no one is allowed to leave unattended. I have not met this 'Blue' before. Perhaps, since your eyes are now observing students as opposed to prey, you would be so kind as to show me where this 'Blue' is?" He asked though it really wasn't a question at all. He didn't even have time to assist the other student and direct her to lake before she was off.
I really have no idea why I signed up for this, the tiger thought in frustration.

"He gave you a nickname already?" Danielle asked softly, hesitating for a full minute before she settled her tray down and slowly sat in the seat opposite of Otso. There was no way she was comfortable enough with someone else to sit beside them so soon. She bit her lip, glancing at Kerri, noticing he had sat down by the other bird woman.
"I hope you didn't get offended..." Danielle began, "It is really difficult for Kerri to be... sociable," she said slowly, for lack of a better word, "The fact he gave you a nickname is actually, in a way, a good thing. He was trying to connect with you in the only way he knew how."

"I can understand that." He said. "Eloi, my cousin..it was hard for him, when he first came to live with us. He had difficulty understanding why he was there, and what had happened."

He blinked, leaning on his wrist. "I don't mind it, really. It's a bit odd for me. This is my first time in public school. I was homeschooled." His ears flicked.

Danielle looked down at her food, wondering if she should say anything about her circumstances. She lifted her head and smiled, that brief moment of doubt gone from her face.
"That sounds really lovely," she answered sweetly, "It must have been nice for you to have your cousin with you... Once he got accustomed to staying with you, that is."

"Yeah, it was." He chuckled. "Got annoying after a few months, though. It was nice to have somebody else but the horses, and my mom. He can ride any horse. It's fantastic."

He smiled softly at Danielle. "I lived on a farm. We had crops, and things."

Danielle's eyes showed wide curiousity.
"What's a farm...?" She questioned. She vaguely knew about such a thing but had nothing to fall back on to help her piece it together in her mind what a 'farm' entailed. She cupped her cheeks in her hands, more interested in hearing about this 'farm' and Otso's background than her supper.

He laughed. "A farm is a piece of land owned by somebody, known as a farmer. On farms, it's common for people to raise animals, or grow plants. Cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, are some animals kept on farms."

Ilya smiled at him, as she scented the air again. Downwind, luckily. I can scent them, they can't scent me. She picked her prey up and hid it under a bush quickly so she could come back later before pushing through, climbing up a tree, looking down above Blue and the wolf, lying down on the branch and letting one arm and a tail hang down, her eyes visible as her hood was pulled down. Ilya didn't say a word, watching the pair with a frown on her face.

Blue looked down at the chipmunk trailing behind her. "There was?" She said quietly. "Why would someone want to spy on me?" She said. She picked up the chipmunk and set it on her shoulder. "Please do continue!" She said.
