I nervously sit in the den, eying Cyrus and Nightfang. Cyrus lifts his wing and I know he is inviting me to lay by Nightfang with him. I curl up by Nightfang's belly and let Cyrus cover us again with his wing.

I wake again and open my eyes. I seem to be underneath a wing. A wing that belongs to Cyrus. I immediately scramble out from under it, luckily Starlight is not under there as well and is instead sitting beside Cyrus. I struggle to my feet, gasping. I relax though when I see how.... friendly Cyrus seems. This is the kind, loving Cyrus I remember from when I was really young, when he was a new King.
"I am sorry, son. For... for everything" He sighs and sits up, avoiding my gaze.
"Stay in the Kingdom, please. As my eldest child it is you, not Eskita, who will inherit the throne" He says.
"I forgive you father. It is not your fault alone what has happened. It is my fault you became who you were. Aggressive and mean. It is my fault we never fixed things until now" I gaze up at him and he meets my gaze.
