By the time Knuckles had found the thing he was looking for and made it out of the caverns, he sighed. It was night, and he didn't want to just appear in the middle of the night. Instead, he took up his load (not too fond of the shape of it) and made his way back to the Master Emerald.

Knux sighed, set down the item, and curled up at the base of the Emerald. He gazed into it's surface for what felt like hours (It was only about 10 minutes) before letting out a yawn and going to sleep.
