Ash followed, falling silent, waiting for what that was

"You...wouldn't hurt me again, by any terms, right?" He asked Ash, looking to him. His freckle scales chruned with nervous teal and hints of sick green.

He couldn't believe that this was what this was about but didn't show it. "Of course not. I've...I like to think that I've learned my lesson."

"So...you won't go through with what you said? You..." He seemed to be controlling himself. The faintest flickers of orange and red hinted at the edge of his hazel eyes. "You wouldn't k-kill me?"

"Kill you?" He sounded shocked to the core. He thought for a moment, wondering where on earth Jason had got that idea. "Oh. That. No, I won't kill you. I...I don't think I can."

He nodded, looking down. He didn't seem all to convinced but he did seem at least a bit relieved. "Okay...Th-thank you."

Ash fell silent, feeling bad that Jason was worried about that.

Jason didn't say anything for a while. But after some time he did speak. "I...I don't think you and I can work." He said quietly, as if struggling to admit something.

Ash was silent for a long moment, unsure of what to say.

Jason's freckle scales dripped into multiple colors; white, green, teal and even orange.
