He hated to admit that it was refreshing compared to the stench outside.

Soon Jason fell to his thoughts and soon was stiff as images played in his sleepless mind. Ears twitching but breathing short and not very often. He only lifted his head here and there to make sure Ash was okay and that the ice was well layered. Icing it again when he had to.

The next morning, the rain had stopped and everything had died, though the ground still steamed. There was no visible sun through the choking clouds, but the air blistered with heat. Ash had somehow made his way outside the tube, sitting against it. He had his head back and his sword was resting on his knees. His eyes were closed but he wasn't asleep. He really did fear that if he slept he wouldn't wake

Jason noticed the change and lugged his form up,not shifting due to his body still being in pain. He took in a sharp breath and curled into himself a little as his underbelly stung with the wound and he realized how much blood he'd lost. He shook his head weakly, whispering " It's fine,it doesn't matter. " then walked out carefully, limping with the pain in his front talons but kept a calm outlook despite the maroon pulsing in his freckles and color changing scales on his frills and wings. He weakly stretched his wings a bit as he walked out,the large things shaking a bit from pain but he said nothing, not even a wince.

Gray eyes cracked open and regarded him blearily. He looked worse than he did the night before...His cheeks were hollow, dark circles crouched under his eyes, and his skin was almost translucent. "Told you so," Ash sighed. "You needed the sleep and now how are you planning on fighting Machina and getting your brother back?"

Jason turned and growled softly, but not in a harsh way really. "I'm fine. I've stayed up a week and I still was able to fight. We won that battle and kept control over the Crystal Fields." He said, raising his elegant snout a bit but didn't seem arrogant, rather more trying to prove a point. He felt bad tho, clearly,as he saw how bad Ash seemed.

"I wasn't worried about how tired you were. Look at the cement." It was stained red from his blood. "You're obviously weaker than what you should be." Ash looked past him to the tower, seeming to gain a little strength. "Not far now."

Jason saw the blood and his white scales of his snout seemed to go more pale than they should have been but he shook his head limply and shook out his tail, the stinger for once not coming out. "Then let's get going and cover what ground we have to." He said. He knew that the underbelly of a dragon was the worst place to get hurt,if you sliced it open enough the dragon wouldn't have a chance. They'd die within at least two hours, unless you used a specific way of degutting that kept the dragon alive long enough to live through the ripping and removal yet still be slowly dying despite being fully aware of it's agony.

Ash hauled himself up and started to follow the tracks again. "Are you sure? We can rest until you're healed," he offered

Jason looked as though he was about to accept before he snapped his snout shut and reminded himself of what was going down and what had to be done. "No...it's fine....I'm...fine." He said, tho seeming to say 'I'm fine' in a way as tho he felt it really didn't matter enough to be said as he followed.
