Amicus raised his eyebrows at him, not sure what was making the mage so red faced and shy. "Very well. What is it?" He wheezed, trying to hold back another bout of coughing. He hated that it was exceptionally cold today. That never helped his cough, even if it was only there because he had scratched his magic resources to the limit.

"I know we just met and all but I wanted you to know...Amicus, I-I believe you have me smitten for you..." The young man admitted. "I think I might have a crush on you in other words."

Amicus stopped short, not expecting this news. Not at all. He wasn't really sure how to take it. He wasn't angry or anything. Perhaps relieved that he finally knew why the other had been so red in the face all the time. He wheezed again, still holding back another coughing fit. "So that's why I've caught you red faced and starry eyed."

"Yes. I'm sorry for not saying things sooner. I thought it just a passing thought. Seems I was wrong though..."

Amicus studied the other with his dark, watery eyes. Yes, this was unexpected. But it sent some sort of thrill through him to know that this man actually liked him, and not just as a friend or comrade. The mage had always been slow to love for fear of getting hurt, but he had a feeling he needn't fear this from Taz. He gave a gentle smirk and gently bumped shoulders with him. "Then we shall see where this journey takes us, hmm?"

He got a confused look on his face though it softened into a smile at the other man's words. "It would be my pleasure." Taz answered slowly and lightly taking the man's hand in his. Small steps, nothing too pushy like kissing or anything. Just a small gesture to see if this was what they both wanted.

A few coughs finally escaped the mage after being held back for a bit too long. He was surprised when his hand was wrapped in the warmth of the other's hand. He glanced over, but quickly looked straight ahead again. For the first time, he could feel that it was his own face turning red, and not from the cold. Was this such a good idea when here was a war to fight? He hoped he didn't come to regret actually going with this and moving forward.

Taz led the way to the mess tent finding a seat to the back of the tent so they could sit together and wait for the others. "I've come to the conclusion that I have no real knowledge of what type of magic you use. Do you mind if I ask?"
