The pack leader, Gray glared at Ember, "That's runt's parents died fighting a bear, they were foolish and that good for nothing runt is going to be just like them, foolish, hunting when he can be seen and killed." he growled, Neo picked himself up, "I'm not a runt." he said softly, Gray scoffed, "You can't hunt, that deer that you brought back, she killed it for you." he challenged, Neo's eyes glowed brightly, "I'M NOT A RUNT!!!!" he howled angrily, Gray gasped, Neo glared at the pack with fury in his eyes, his fur glowed brightly like a beacon, "If I come across any of you, I will not hesitate to kill you." he snarled stalking off.

"that's a bluff if ive ever seen one." ember charged at him and ripped of his tail, quite literally. she immediately turned round as fast as she could, threw neo on her back, and ran to then den.

Neo clung to Ember not wanting to fall off, "Thank you." he said in her ear as she ran.

ember did not look back or even speak to neo as he clung to her. she arrived at the den and placed neo on the mat. she spat the alpha's tail onto the mat and gagged. after cleaning a few of her cuts, she remembered that she had not feed the pup since that morning. she ran out of the den once again, she returned with an old turtle shell full of fresh cold water, two rabbits and a squirrel. she made sure the pup was alright, picking him up with her nose, looking him over. after seeing that he was mostly unharmed, she staggered over to the mat and collapsed.

Neo went over to the tail and buried it, he went back over to Ember, "First you need to rest." he said stubbornly, he wasn't going to let her go out until she could take care of herself without help.

ember smiled and forced herself up. "first we need to take shelter with my pack." Ember shook as she stood. She walked to the entrance of the cave then said with a weak smile "i'll rest as soon as we get there"

ember looked down at the pup and smiled once again. she walked out of the cave and invited the pup onto her back with a flock of her head.
