They aren't death metal but I recommend Alesana and Demon Hunter.
Alesana is closer to Pierce the Veil, but waaaay better. Their lyrics are meaningful and they tell stories in their concept albums. Very interesting and worth googling.
Demon Hunter is just beautiful. The vocalist is amazing; his voice is so deep and smooth. They have a variety of songs within the metal genre.
