She slipped through and closed the vent gently behind her

"Here we go, on the road again!" Sam sang as he lead the way, turning out of the alley and onto the darkened streets of Gotham City.

Keeping to the shadows, they ran eastward. They passed building after building, car after car, before stopping before an empty, fenced-off lot.

"Home, sweet home," he said before calling out loudly, "I'm back, everybody!"

Katana followed close behind Sam almost looking over his shoulder as she looked at the other members of the group she was excited to meet every one but she was still timid

From everywhere, behind trashcans, corners, the banged up car at the end of the lot, animals poured out. They gave a slight commotion at the stranger beside their leader, but felt silent when he spoke.

"I have some news. Firstly, say hello to Katana, a potential new family member. Remember to give her breathing room when you say hello. Secondly, the important news is going to require more privacy. We need to move to the lower level so humans don't spot us. Let's go," Sam said, introducing Katana to everyone.

All of the animals disappeared from sight again, as if they'd never been there. Sam let Katana to the broken car. Inside the car, a man-hole was revealed, leading down into the sewers.

Sam hopped down, looking back up at her, "I know what you're thinking, but, just trust me, it's better than it seems."

She chuckled and shook her head " at least I can't smell anything" she said leaping down keeping close to him as to not get lost.

Chat Padded Down the sidewalk with his nose stuck to the ground sniffing. After he made it to the last alleyway he picked his head up with a sigh "Boss ain't going to like this"

With Katana at his side, Sam led her through the system, avoiding filth whenever possible. It was only a brief walk before he pushed open a set of wooden doors.

"Here's the real home! Make yourself comfortable!" He said, stepping out of the way to reveal an abandoned train station.

There were even more animals here than there were above ground. Chatting, playing, and running to and fro, they were everywhere. Bright lights shined all around the stations, making it look gorgeous despite its old and broken state.

She starred with surprise "Wow....this...this is Amazing" she walked slowly on the platform taking in every detail. "So You all live down here? Like together?" she asked the tip of her tail twitching excitedly

Sam grinned happily, watching everyone go about their business, "You bet! Not many humans venture down here anymore, not since the lot above was closed off."

She was still captivated by her surroundings " So what rules do I need to know?" she asked in an almost routine fashion"
