Vance nods with a smile, staring ahead at Beckett.
"I've been trying to... help him forget to cut his hair," he says, jerking his chin towards the boy in from of him. "I think it looks cute long."
He hums softly. "So, do you have a place to stay? Or will you be staying with Beckett?" the redhead asks.

He nods, gently tapping his chin.
As you begin to get closer to the square where you landed this morning, you begin to hear the hustle and bustle of a crowd, but you're still too far off to tell exactly what is happening.
"Honesty, I'm surprised he picked a job as labor-intensive as a blacksmith," Vance murmurs, probably so Beckett can't hear him. "But it suits him well. He'll take good care of you, I know it. But if you ever need a job, someone with magic like yourself would always be helpful in my line of work," he sighs, looking up at the glittering night sky. He seems visibly worried about something.

Vance smiles softly at him.
"Ah, you noticed. Beckett has always told me I wear my heart on my sleeve. To put it simply, and to not worry you, it has to do with my work. It's become quite stressful as of late, because of a new case that's popped up. Well, not really a new case, more like an old one that's resurfaced."
He sighs loudly again, blowing his hair out of his face. Beckett turns around and looks at him, but Vance waves him off and your brother shrugs, turning back around.

Vance grins widely, his face as friendly as ever.
"I don't doubt that. If you're even a fraction as smart as your brother, you'd basically be considered a genius," he says with a chuckle. "The problem is, my line of work is dangerous, so I don't know how your brother would feel about it..." he trails off and walks a few steps in silence.
"I hope you two are done yammering back there, because we're here," Beckett says, coming to a stop.
The scene in from of you is beautiful and bright. Many of the market stalls that were closed earlier in the day are open, selling wonderful treats and trinkets. Some stalls sell masks, and some hold carnival games.
There's a large wall near the center of the square, where people are hanging small wooden plaques that they've inked words onto.
All in all, the whole night is glowy and bright, with a light and joyful atmosphere.
"We should probably go do our wishes first, then go find a place to watch the show," Beckett says, now standing on Vance's other side.

Beckett snorts softly.
"If you think this is pretty, just wait until people start releasing their wishes. I've been for years, and that's still one of the most beautiful things I've seen," he says.
Vance grabs one of your hands and one of Becketts and then begins tugging you to a nearby food stall.
