Drake knows he has some food with him that was going to be his meal. Taking the plastic bag containing some vegetables out of his pocket he leaves it by the foot of a tree. He hopes it will help make up for scaring her.

The vegetables are just carrots, celery, cucumbers, and and dried seaweed. Nothing dangerous.
