Jack leaned his head back and nodded off easily, trained to be in the cold as long as need be.

The land began to warm around them as sunlight began to sweep over the horizon and bask them in morning light.

To Ray, it felt like they had only just begun to fall asleep before they were awoken by the sun. "No... Five more minutes" Ray mutters resolutely, ducking their head into the shirt to try and block out the sunlight that was creeping up around them. They tugged their hood down over their face. After a few moments, they sigh and give up trying to escape waking up.

Jack still had his arms around Ray and had been watching the sun rise. He smiled and gently patted Rays head as he noticed they were awake. "You don't have to wake up just yet."

"I'm up. It's no use going back to sleep." Ray sighs, still holding their hood down over their eyes. They popped their head back up before pausing and slipping out of Jack's shirt.

Jack let them, fixing his shirt and sitting up.

Ray stands up for a few seconds before sitting back down. Walking nearly all of yesterday had further injured their already hurt leg.

Jack noticed and came over to them. He offered to check their leg.

Ray insisted it was fine. They lean against a tree and pull themself to their feet again.
