In her mind, she tosses you a thick scroll. You open it out of curiosity and find an ink-written story.
THE STORY OF LIGHTCLAW
Aura awoke on a windy and foggy morning. She knew that what she was about to do was not a good idea. "Aura, it's your birthday today! Remember?" Her mother called. "Yes, I know" Aura replied politely. "What am I having for breakfast?"
"Your favorite! Pancakes for breakfast, grilled cheese for lunch, and spaghetti for dinner!" Her dad said while grinning.
When Aura was done with her delicious breakfast, she did what she had to do. Her friends, Samson, May, and Liam decided to climb to the top of the tallest mountain in their village.
"I'm regretting this so badly..." Liam wept - he was the wimp of the group.
"This will be SO awesome! What if we get a... dragon egg!" May said, ignoring Liam.
"Then Aura gets to keep it - since it is her birthday," Samson said kindly.
Oh no, Aura thought. She knew that dragons were illegal and "fake" in her village.

Finally, they reached the top of the mountain. And May reached for a dragon nest.
There it is, Aura thought wistfully, I can't believe it. A real dragon egg.
That morning, the group took turns caring for the nest. May wanted to keep it. Samson argued and said, "No, it's Aura who will be keeping it." He nodded to Aura. May eventually gave up but Aura still knew that that might've been the last of their friendship. "Guys! It's raining! We have to take shelter!" Liam cried out.
"But... the egg! The egg needs warmth!" Aura declared. May shot Aura a dirty look.
Aura, with no doubt, cradled the warm egg in her arms and found shelter.
A few hours passed. The egg was still warm but-
Was that a crack?!
Indeed it was. The egg was hatching. "Look, guys!" Aura yipped. May was already long gone and probably at home from their "fight".
"No way! It..." Liam started to say.
The dragon had hatched. It exhaled a light beam! But... the light beam seemed to bring sunshine to clash with the rain.
Her claws were perfectly nice. The sunshine had taken over by now.
"I think I have a name for her," Aura said slowly, taking the time to think about this, "We'll name her LightClaw - and I will keep her"

Aura and her friends reached the bottom of the mountain. She stuffed the egg away in her backpack that she'd brought - just in case. She walked to a park before and had seen parents playing with their kids and having an enjoyable day. She wondered if she could be that kind of parent to her dragon.
She got to her house around noon. "MOM! DAD! I'M HOME!" She yelled.
"Where have you been?" Her father said in a booming voice.
"Samson's house, with Liam and May!" Aura claimed though she knew that wasn't true.
Her father gave Aura a stern look, "Alright,"
When Aura arrived to her room, the dragon somehow managed to get out of the egg in the backpack.
"Squawk!" LightClaw squeaked. "SQUAWK!!!" She squeaked again. She must be hungry
But then, footsteps came down the hallway.
"LightClaw hide!" Aura commanded.
"Squeeeeak??" LightClaw asked.
But it was too late. The patrol came barging in.

"Why did you steal a dragon egg? You know they are illegal and... fake" One of the guards questioned.
"Let her go! It was my mistake, my mistake!" Aura said, tears streaming down her eyes.
LightClaw was in the chains Aura should have been in.
"I'll let you think about this question a little longer," The guard said.
Aura, surprisingly, was not tied up! She could easily escape. Dumb patrol guards and their dumb questions, Aura thought.
LightClaw was clawing the stone floor hopelessly. When she looked up, she saw Aura.
"Can you breath fire to get your leg and arm cuffs melted?" Aura asked.
LightClaw squeaked with consent

They were free. She went home that night peacefully. Something had changed though. Aura knew what had changed, but not how to change it.
She needed to release LightClaw back into the wild.
All night she rehearsed her confession.
LightClaw, I love you. But...everything you love someday has to go.
LightClaw, you might have to learn that someday.
LightClaw, that day is today.
LightClaw, I have to release you back into the wild

LightClaw has gone to her Flight to teach everybody about Aura and LightClaw's story. Aura became the leader of her village when she turned 26 and made the law "NO DRAGON ABUSE" Since then, LightClaw has visited every month and they bond nonstop. Occasionally, LightClaw will bring the Flight to meet Aura.
