That log suddenly looked a lot like the top half of a horses head, if a horse could swim like an alligator. And then she could see the dead white eyes, the thin shiny teeth.

Once she finally got on top she realized what it actually was. In panic she tried to jump to the nearest tree branch, her arms reached as far as she could, hoping to grab the branch.

It worked. The branch lifted her out of the water, just as the horse monster lunged with a roar. Its wet, rubbery nose hit the bottom of her foot, jaws snapping with an evil snick. Then the branch flung her to the bank, and the horse thing sank below the surface once more.

She breathed heavily.
'I have to get back...' She paused for a moment. 'But where is back....' She asked herself.

Puck found her a few minutes later. His eyes were a mix of sympathy and exasperation. "Are you all right?" He ran his hands up her arms, making sure she was still in one piece. "Still in there, princess? Talk to me."

"Huh?..." She looked at him before realizing it was Puck. Her eyes lit up and she hugged him quickly.

"What happened?" He asked, returning the embrace. "I woke up and you were gone..."

"I... thought I saw Ethan..." She said closing her eyes as he hugged her back.
"I was tricked...." She said sadly.

Puck sighed and started to lead her back down the trail, keeping an arm around her. "Yeah," he muttered. "Wisps are like that, making you see what you want to see, before leading you off the path. Though, that one seemed particularly spiteful, leading you right to a kelpies pond. I suppose I could tell you never to go off alone, but I think itd be a waste of breath. Oh, what the heck." He stopped and looked her dead in the eye. "Dont go off alone, princess. Under any circumstances, understand? In this world, youre viewed as either a plaything or a light snack. Dont forget that."

"I...I don't know what to do here... I am too confused by what's real and what isn't..." She said putting her head down slightly.
