Right as he steps through, there's a piercing crack and an enraged shriek. Everything went white. As soon as he could see again, he could see Ash stared around in horror. A twisted landscape stretched before them, barren and dark and with the sky a sickly yellow-gray. Literal mountains of rubble dominated the land that were composed of old technology that nobody used anymore. Some of the piles were on fire, burning with a thick, choking smog. A hot wind howled through the wasteland, stirring the dust

Jason was shocked by the sudden lack of sight for a moment, tail up and stinger bared but as he gained his sight back and looked at the horrid land it dropped behind him slowly. "Oh g0d" He said softly, looking out into the horrid and seeming sorrowful wasteland. He coughed into his elbow as his sensitive sense of smell caught the sick stench of the smog, gasping softly for a moment.

"This is the Nevernever," Ash muttered, his voice grim. "Somewhere in the Deep Tangle, if I had to guess. No wonder the wyldwood is dying."

He walked over besides Ash and put a wing around him a bit, trying to gently reassure him. "We'll kill that Iron King. He'll pay,I swear. And dragons hold strong to their word." He said, crossing a few dragonic symbols over his chest as his freckles seemed to glow softly for a moment as he made the symbols.

Ash nods. He slowly started to make his way through the mountains of junk, keeping a wary eye on anything that might come to life and attack. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught movement and spun towards it, thinking it was another dragon. It wasn't a dragon this time but several small, hunchbacked creatures waddling to and fro between the mounds. They looked like withered gnomes, bent over by the huge amount of stuff piled on their backs, like giant hermit crabs. When they found an item they liked--a broken toy, the spokes of a bicycle--they attached it to the collection on their backs and shuffled to the next mound. Some of their piles were large and quite impressive, in a sad kind of way.

A few of the creatures saw them and came waddling up, beady eyes bright and curious. Ash went for his sword, but maybe these creatures could point them in the right direction

Jason pitied the poor little things and as they came over he noticed the brightness in their eyes and it faintly reminded him of Silver. He motioned against the sword and offered a soft smile to the little creatures. He turned his freckle scales a soft rose gold and pulled his wings in to look smaller and not to threatening.

They cock their heads but don't say anything. A few pressed closer to them, curious. Two crowded Ash, pawing at his now sheathed sword. He shifted uneasily and stepped away

"They don't seem to mean any harm, their just curious." He said, putting a hand to Ash's shoulder gently. He let them come a little closer, smiling to them like they where young dragonets. He seemed to know how to treat those smaller than him as he showed them a gentle demeanor. "Do you think we could ask them where to go?"

"You can try, but they might want something for their services." Just like all the other fey. The creatures were jabbering among themselves.

"Hmm...well they seem to like little nick nacks...you think they'd be okay with some dragon scales? " He said. "I ain't got anything from the human realm on my other than the cloths on my back. Unlike most, not even my phone."
