I frown at the door. I glance down at Mel before pushing on the door with all my strength, trying to get it open.

Mel helps you push open the door. A staircase goes down into the dark and it feels and smells musky.

(In the cave is the door to the little area and the tunnel you used to get there.)

You help the Aeri up and walk him into the cave. It still echoes with water and bats, but nothing of the sort is there. The little pool of water definitely didn't make that sound; it didn't even make a sound. Not even when something touched it.

Walking back towards the door, you do just after it to examine the water. It's a shallow thing. Nothing interesting about it. Looking closer you realize the pool most have been bigger at some point, because it seems to be in a dip best the center of the area.

I smile down at Mel, then look back down at the staircase. Pulling out my daggers, I walk cautiously down the staircase, bracing myself for anything to jump out at me.
