He should enjoy it, the boy honestly seemed a bit uncomfortable being so close to Ash at the moment. He was standing on the edge.

That didn't help, his freckle scales where fighting with one another. Dark blue and light pink where fighting, clashing and smashing over and over but neither giving way. His expression was a little pained but he either would snuggle against him or sob right then and there.

Ash was fine with either. He was concerned at the colors that were fighting each other, but he didn't speak. He didn't want to.

Jason said nothing as well, closing his eyes as his breathing became tense and shallow. The colors twisted and stabbed, choking one another and even slicing through until ... the pink was drowned out. It was shoved down and strangled, yanked apart and then swallowed away.

Ash watched, a sad smile coming to his lips

This time, he got himself to release Jason, the sad smile still there

"So...how was the river? Not too cold, right?" He asked, attempting to make Jason a little happier, or at least take his mind off whatever it was on
