He looked for one that was extra cute and still moved in an adorable way, but was also able to stay still on dragon back.

Probably one of the older ones. The adolescents are a lot more active and exciteable.

Their age is pretty hard to tell. Some are just smaller.

He soon found one he liked. Well, liked more. It ambled around in a very cute way, ate not sloppily, but not neatly, either, and just looked adorable. He walked over to the water and grabbed a fish before going in front of the chosen selkie and holding it out, smiling.
