Jack wasn't bothered by the heat, simply removing his armor from over his normal clothes and wrapping it in his extra shirt.

Ray hums a tune under their breath to distract themself from walking because walking is a mundane thing. Their hood was keeping the sun off their face for the most part so they didn't mind wearing it. Their clothes were made of a light material, so, though dark, it wasn't too bad. Ray offers to help Jack carry his armor.

Jack said he was fine. Now without his armor on, his short sleeved shirt showed the muscles in his arms.

Ray nods. In the lighting, their eyes didn't seem the already stunning green, but the golden flecks stood out as well. They look away in order to stop staring at Jack. They attempted to draw Jack into their conversation, "So..." They paused for a while, "Ok, let's not sew buttons. Ah, I'm awkward."

Jack chuckled softly, in a rich low tone. "Don't worry, I've noticed." He said kindly, giving a soft smile to Ray.

Ray glanced back up at Jack, smiling shyly back.

Jack still hand't let go of their hand yet.

Ray didn't mind holding hands, so they hadn't yet let go of Jack's.

Jack looked around as the land around them changed to hills and had trees to give them shade.

Ray takes a deep breath, "So, we already know I'm awkward so I guess it won't hurt to say it... I know the land around us is pretty, but its not as pretty as you... While we're talking about you and land, since my mind is deciding to go off on a tangent, both you and the land are strong and sturdy. Did you know, depending on where you are, the moss that grows on trees can tell you where you are and which direction you're going in?" Ray cuts themself off before they could talk Jack's ears off.
