Brandishing the torch as a weapon incase whatever was inside attacked, I'd open the door.

The door is tough to open, you manage to get it before long. A loud metal 'screee' is sounded and you are faced with a young Aeridini. His hide covered in stone-like coloured markings. The poor thing must've been in the cave for a long time.
The Aeri attempts to lunge at you, but fails and falls to the ground in exaughstion. The poor thing must be really hungry..

I'd cautiously move towards the Aeri, pro ping my torch up so I had both hands to work with but could still see. I'd let it know I was not trying to be hostile and offer it some if the food I had on me.

Maybe I should. I go back to the house with the door in it, and put the key in the hole. I turn it, and wait for the click to indicate it was unlocked.
(Also I have a hurricane coming up around my area, so I may be out of wifi for more than 3 days. Just wanted to tell you)

(Thanks for the heads up. Florida?)
You wander back to the house and attempt to unlock the door with the key you just found. It unlocks but it doesn't open.

The Aeri slowing takes the food into it's being and continues to lay there. Seems you have made a new friend, but he is not yet a companion.

I'd investigate around to see if anything was constraining the poor thing.

You examine every area around him to check for constraits. A small anklet cuff chains him to the wall inside the door. A small pool of water lays in the back of the area and a little pile of bones rests beside it.

I'd unchain him from the anklet and check the bones for items, or clues.

You unchain the Aeri with no difficulties.
!Companion Gained!
Checking the pile for anything interesting, you find little scraps of fur with a gold piece resting underneath.
