Any type. They arent picky.

Pretty good quality. Barely any rust, and all sharp and pointy. They have bows, arrows swords, and a big guy has a battle axe thats sharp and rusty. Probably wants to infect people with it.

What technology level are we playing at?

If we're playing in the medieval age, with swords and spears and bows and not guns, smores and hot dogs don't exist and we would be tied up with ropes, not chained up.

If we're playing in the age of s'mores and hotdogs and chains lugged thru the forest, we're playing in a more modern age, with at least muskets. Probably bigger guns.

Please tell me. I need to know what this world is like. I need to know what to expect. Everything you said before the chains makes me think medieval age, but smores and hotdogs and chains lugged thru the forest make me think post-Enlightenment. By which point there should be more readily available and better medicine than herbs and bandages.

Its modern age. However, since your trapped in the maze, getting better stuff is hard. So most people get swords and stuff. Guns and bandages do exist, but theyre a lot harder to find.

So why is there a band of bandits in the maze running around taking slaves?

Also, I told the people to scatter. How did they ever collect them all in a quiet and timely manner?

To answer your first to questions, they just do. Dont question it. Also, for plot.
