Ironhorse nodded. Puck reached down and freed his daggers before he reached out and carefully turned the handle.

The door swung forward with a creak, and a waft of frigid air hit them in the face. Someone had cranked the AC down to like zero degrees; the room was a freezer box as they stepped inside.

A dozen or so humans in expensive business suits sat around a long, U-shaped table in the center of the floor. From the looks of it, they had interrupted a business meeting, for they all turned and stared at Lise with various degrees of annoyance and confusion. At the end of the table, a swivel chair sat with its back to them, hiding the speaker or CEO or whoever was in charge.

Camm starts swimming closer to the surface, trying to dissuade them from chasing her, but accidentally becoming visible from the surface in the process. But the sirens keep chasing her, and they're much faster.

After a moment, Oberon spots her

One of the sirens catches up to her and slashes at her tail. Cammie hisses in pain but doesn't stop. Then another grabs her by the arm and wrenches her backwards, biting her shoulder.

Izz watches and tries to get to Camm to help her

Camm tries to fight back, but she's outnumbered. One of the sirens snatches Izz by her bad leg, growling at Camm. It's a little hard to tell from the surface what's going on, but it's obvious enough that it's bad.

Oberon looks for a way to get them out

He could probably just use the nearby trees.

The siren doesn't even care. It tosses her to another siren, as if Izz is no more important than some kind of cattle. They don't even bother singing to her; their main focus is on Camm.

While he could use the trees, how was he supposed to get Camm and Izz by themselves?

That was a good thing, though.

He could just grab all of them. Sirens are worth a whole bunch, and he could just release the others afterwards if he wanted to.

Camm is getting bitten and scratched. Badly. She's trying to fight back, but she's heavily outnumbered.
