Ray smiles and nods before heading back to his seat. Austyn hasn't heard what Ray had said before, so he gives him an inquiring look. Ray shrugs and finishes his meal.

Janet continued eating her corndog, trying to resist the urge to see how far down her throat she could put the stick.
(That's a thing I did when I was eleven, and I almost lost my grip on the stick TwT)

Ray sits back and patiently waits for Micah to be done. He was a bit tired, so he clears his place and rests his head on the table.
(TwT I don't think I ever did that. I'm too nervous a child to trust myself to do that. Also, Janet, no going around poking things down your throat. Don't want you to get hurt.)

Janet gave in and, once there was no more corndog on the stick, she opened her mouth as wide as she could, slowly pushing the stick further back down her throat.

Ray wasn't paying attention and couldn't see what she was doing with his head down and with Austyn in between. Austyn was chatting with someone across from him, blissfully unaware of what Janet was doing.

Janet pushed the stick a bit too far down her throat and started choking, coughing violently.

Austyn jumps and turns to her. He wishes he can help but isn't exactly sure how to since he hasn't exactly been taught. Maybe the Heimlich maneuver? His mind turned blank.

Janet continued attempting to dislodge the stick herself, and she finally coughed it up. She wiped the tears from her eyes, whimpering and rubbing her now sore throat.

Austyn wrapped her in a big hug. "Are you alright? Don't do that again. I'm sorry. Should we go to Amy?" Austyn says feeling terrible. He should have been able to help her! Stupid brain in not remembering anything!
Ray was still asleep, and drooling slightly since his mouth was open and he was snoring.
