Ash !hesitated, hanging back in the doorway. He was looking for the trod... Metal grates covered the floor. Steam drifted over the floor, coiling around their legs. Against the far wall, one of the grates had been pried up, leaving a square, gaping hole. Smoke boiled out of the opening. That's the trod!

Jason noticed how Ash held back and he reached out and offered a hand to him. "It's okay,I'll keep you in my wings so that you don't touch any of it,or you could ride on my larger form if there might be some on the floor." He said calmly.

Ash shook his head. "I'm not worried about them touching me." Ash still hung back, and he said that something was wrong. In a split second, a pile of scrap metal shifted. Then, with a screech that sounded like nails on a chalkboard, the mound uncurled, sending sparks into the air as it dragged along the floor. From the jumbled mess a long neck rose up that was made of iron, wire, and broken glass. A reptilian head glared down at them, shards of metal bristling from it's skull. Then the entire mound lurched up, shifting into a huge lizard of iron and steel, with curved talons and a jagged, spiked tail

Jason's eyes widened as he looked at the beast,his hands clenching into fists besides him. "Oh come on! I just melted something already." He said,half jokingly. He grit his teeth as he rolled his shoulder,his bones shifting slightly into ready to shift again.

"Thats what I was worried about." The dragon roared, a deafening metallic screech. The dragon hissed, steam erupting from its gaping jaws. A volley of ice darts flew through the air, striking the dragon in the head and shattering harmlessly of its skull. It screamed and reared up, glaring at Ash. Lashing its tail, the dragon charged, sparks flying from its claws as it bore down on Ash

Jason quickly forced his body,against horrid pain and blood,to shift into his larger form immediately and he put himself between the other beast and the prince. "Aw,I guess rumors are right. We are rude and barbaric." Jason,now Shadow,growled. He reeled back on his hind legs and lashed his claws out,scraping at the metal snout of the other beast. "Get to the trod,I'll be there after you." He said toward Ash,closely avoiding a swing from the metal dragon.

"No. I can't go alone." Ash closes his eyes for a moment, then knelt and drove his sword point down into the floor. There was a flash of blue light, and ice spread rapidly from the tip, covering the ground and coating everything in crystals. Icicles started to form on overhead beams and there was a sudden chill. All the scrap metal frosted over, as well. Ash leaped aside as the dragon turned its attention to him again and reached him, and Ash moved as easily on ice as on the normal ground. Unable to stop itself, the dragon slammed into the wall, bits of metal flying everywhere. The dragon hissed, even more mad now

Shadow had to dig his claws downward in order to keep steady. "Yes you can,unless you mean it's of danger to you." he said,opening his jaws fully after his sentence and unhinging his jaws,fire sparking to life in his jaws. He spat a sharp ball of flame at the creature,tho it didn't spread to anything other than his target. It didn't do much but rather was a harsh hit.

The fire didn't do much, only enrage it further. Ash studied the dragon. There weren't any gears or anything like that. "So far it just seems like a huge mound of scrap metal..." Ash got an idea. He already knew the he might be sacrificing himself for this, but he had a contract to fulfill

Shadow looked down to him,eyes widening with worry. "Ash..." He was distracted tho as the beast lunged again. He threw his body against it,screeching as sharp points of the metals scraped his scales sharply,only adding to scars all over his sleek body. He swung his tail and jabbed with his stinger. He kicked with his back legs but was shoved forward and landed on his chest with a grunt. He quickly got back up but didn't look like he had air left over from the landing on his chest despite the strong built it seemed to have.
