I frown, pulling out my daggers in case the person was still here. I decide to look around a bit more to see if they left anything behind, keeping my daggers at ready and Mel close to me.

I'd follow the path that had the sound of water and bats coming from it. While the other one looks stable it is also likely riddled with traps.

You check every room and find nothing. You attempt to unlock a locked door at the end of the hall, but failure to have its key keeps you from gaining entry.

Walking down the tunnel of echoes, you pass around the column and are produced with yet another fork. Both tunnels looks and sound exactly the same. Although you get an eery feeling from one of them, but you are unsure which it is coming from.

I keep this in mind, and head out of the house. Maybe some other building could have some useful items

You search the next house and find it has only a bathroom and a kitchen/living room. Even if you find something, it won't be much.

You walk down the left corridor a ways and end up tripping over something. Falling and hitting the rock below, you manage to miss swinging axes by a hair. You shirt is torn and you realize you must've tripped over a tripwire.

You scan the living kitchen for anything useful. The contents of the room are a burnt couch, charred walls, counters that look burnt but aren't, and a few cupboards that litter the wall above the counters.
