Sonic was dozing contently up against the pillar closest to the Master Emerald, taking in the soft warmth it radiated. He looked pretty relaxed.

Shadow just stood by and watched silently.

Val looked at Sonic with a raised eyebrow, she grabbed a loose pebble and threw it accurately, it his Sonic right in the middle of his forehead.

Sonic flicked and ear and looked up ay Val, only a little annoyed. "As Knux would say, 'If you had let me sleep 5 more minutes, I would've been eternally grateful'," He complained, causong Holt to chuckle.

Val smirked and gazed out over the forest, the gentle heat coming off the Master Emerald made Val's fur puff out to catch the heat so she could use that heat to stay warm, at the moment she looked like a ball of fur.

Sonic flicked his ear again. "So, why did you wake me up?"

Val didn't answer since she had fallen asleep.

Sonic looked up at the sky. It was almost sunset, anyway. He glanced back at Val. "Hypocrite," He said, going back to sleep.

Shadow looked at Holter. "You should probably rest as well,"

The grey wolf nodded and complied.

Time Skip

Val woke up to the sun shining on her closed eyelids, she opened them to find her fur all fluffed out, she looked like a ball of fluff, a big ball of fluff.

Sonic stirred and opened one eye just a slit. "Val, you're killing me with your fluffiness," He murmmured.

Holter was still asleep, curled up nearby. So was Scarlet, who was on top of one of the pillars.

Val groaned as she stood up, she shook out her fur and her fur went back to normal, she hopped down and stretched.
