You continue along the base of the mountain until you reach some sort of trail. It's broken and rocky. It might be dangerous, but so far it's the only thing you've found.

I'd follow the trail, knowing full and well it's more dangerous and not caring.

It looked like he might have heard what the butterflies said, but I doubted I was going to find out from him anytime soon. Sighing, I push the event to the back of my mind and continue on my way. Maybe a nearby villager or whatever could explain what happened...

Beginning to 'climb' the trail, you pull yourself up onto it as a few rocks slip out from under you. You continue onwards carefully. Jagged boulders point from the ground to the sky and as you progress, the shadows the rocks cast grow longer. Once you are engulfed by the shadows, you look around and see you are in a cave system of sorts. The outside is dark, which means it is night.

As you continue your journey, you begin to see the silhouette of buildings in the distance. The sky around then send slightly orange against the black night.

I'd look around to find something to use as fire wood.

You use the dim light from the moon to look around the cave for sticks or something. You find dead roots littering the ceiling of the cave system. Flint lies as little stones around the cave.

I quicken my pace towards the buildings. Maybe I could actually spend somewhere nice for the night

You continue towards the buildings only to find an awful stench and some still dying fires. The scents of charred wood and burnt flesh hit your nose, making you gag. A few charred houses seem less touched by the fire than others.

Maybe you can find something useful in them?
