Max mounted Lightning, "Come on Owen, you can help me get Cocoa." she said, she didn't want to go to the livery stable, but to get Cocoa she would go through hell to get her out of that miserable place.

"Alright" he mounted Sparky.

We rode to the livery stables, a man was walking out of the building, "Right on time Maxy." he said, "Hey Jules." she said, Jules was the only man she could trust in the livery stables.

"So. Where's Cocoa?" Owen asked

"Right this way," Jules said walking off, Max follows him into the building where there were horses, most horses kept here were owned by the people who worked there, but a few of them were lent to them, mainly for money.

"All these horses...they all look so sad..."

Jules nodded sadly, "Yeah, the people work 'em too hard, usually when they get back they barely get a chance to rest before they go to someone else." he said, "Hey there Cocoa." he said stopping at a stall, Cocoa stuck her head out of the stall and nuzzled my face, "Hey girl." I said with a smile, but then the smile dropped from my face when I saw the whip marks on her back.

Owen also saw the marks. "Never send any of your horses here ever again...if you need someone to care for them, I can take them..."

Tears rose up in Max's eyes, "Who did this to you?" she asked rubbing the mare's neck, Jules sighed, "Mike took her out." Max's eyes went wide with rage, "Mike?!" she said, she more of snarled the name, "Yeah?" Mike said walking up, "You did this to her?" Max said ready to blow from rage.
