"That's.. kind of a long story actually. We kinda had a revolt back on Proxima that Aesis got caught up in after I got reset. I don't really know what happened exactly."

She looked dead at him, very unamused.
"Who is Aesis and what did you do." She demanded sternly. "I thought I had firmly established a 'don't die' rule after the whole 'almost dying' incident a while ago."

"Look, I didn't die or anything. If you want to call it digital murder, that might be way more accurate."

Aesis
"Resets are not 'murder', Zeizan. There is no morality attached to the process and there never has been." Aesis sighed, folding his arms. "I assume you two are done.
So I believe I can explain things slightly better. Your friend here was subject to a Council mandated reset after sustaining a severe injury. It was intended to repair the damage, but I fear it's only made the problem worse in a few regards. Namely my reactivation, for one.
Greetings." He gave Zeth a slight bow.

"Executioner Aesis Scion, #AZ-152. And you are?"

"Im...I am bounty hunter 'blue' code #8675309, Zethrin Palentine. A pleasure...but hold up. Okay okay, wait...so is this some kind of split personality things from one of those terrible human shows?"

She slowly put her dagger away, keeping her left hand on it, still unsure of what exactly was going on.

"Not exactly."

"This core is and always has been mine. I was deactivated some odd hundreds years ago. During that time and with thorough investigation, I believe there was a reset done on me once again leading to your companion.
We are.. essentially the same person. But the fact that I have come back active is.. still very confusing. I don't believe this is anything that's happened before with our kind."

"Isn't that kinda what those shows are about though? Like some crazy dude just snaps and then there's like 20 different people in his head. I think there was a supervillain like that or something.."

"..I'm not exactly keen on what you are referring to, but for the sake of avoiding argument with you, I will pretend to.
All of that seems more of an illness of mind and human condition, while this is more a physical defect and an illness caused of our own society's practices.
Would it not be accurate to compare our situation to that similar of the Council's intended operation?"

"..Yeah, actually, hadn't thought about that, especially as they all agree to doing that.. Though it makes a lot more sense when it's a giant computer statue and a bunch of Overseers doing it than just two of us just kinda falling into it."

Zeth

"Okay...Well, as amazing as it is to see you again and to know you are alive, at the moment, I think it is best we either figure out why the hell this place is powerless, or we leave. It's just some sort of unique power issue...I just got back here for a vacation. I am in no mood for some sort of cringey sleuthing."

She took her hand off of her knife and walked towards the door, but stopping short to lean on the wall. "I have seriously upgraded in more ways than one. My ride, for example. I am ready to get the hell outa here, anyone else?"

Hexic thought this, but managed to keep a straight face. He had been alone with Anya for a while, but not too much had changed about him.
