No, only when an egg hatches will traits and gender show, gender is automatic after hatching.

I'm putting a link to my hatchery all your eggs should be tested, if I missed one please tell, they will have an icon saying tested so when they hatch if they have any traits it will show up. Italics for carried(won't be visible when they grow up) and vis traits plain.
