You see a very large crocodile leaping out at wildebeest, the rest of the herd leaped away running accept for one that's caught in the jaws of the crocodile.

You buy a standard net and throw it on the overly large crocodile, you trapped it but didn't yet tamed it as its a stubborn crocodile.

i'll get close to it and let it sniff me [that's what you do with dogs but i have no idea what to do with big ol crocodiles]
