Zerial nodded in understanding. "So for Vilas, you'd be able to find out if she carries anything, then?" He asked, glancing at his sister.

Vilas was walking along with her brother, occasionally looking at either him or Alala as they spoke. She had decided to definitely be a ghost researcher, and was focusing most of her attention on ways she could figure things out. 'Maybe their appearance suggests what abilities they might have? Or their personality when they were alive? Is there something they all have in common other than being ghosts? Are they at risk of disappearing when they run out of energy? Do they even HAVE any form of energy?' Questions filled her head, and she intended to find answers to all of them.

"Yes," Alala said simply, answering Zerial's question. When they reached the door, the Lupora held the door open for both of them before they all headed inside. The room was square shaped, with one table and several chairs each in the two front corners. A staircase leading up was in the far left corner, and a desk in the far left corner was occupied by a tired looking sylesti filling out paperwork.

(temporary character, not officially added to my list)

"Let me guess, new residents?" The draeyl said, but not unkindly. Alala nodded briskly, and the draeyl poked her head under the desk before coming back up and placing a single genetic scanner on the wooden table. Opening a drawer, she pulled out two sheets of paper and glanced at the pair before checking off a few boxes for species, gender, and whether they were ghost or living. "Come here, and I'll scan you so we can fill out these forms," she said to Vilas.

"Uh. Alright..." Vilas said softly before looking back at a smiling Zerial and cautiously walking towards the Draeyl. Despite her wariness to the situation, Vilas was very curious how a genetic scanner worked. She made sure to observe every motion carefully in hopes of learning something.

(Zerial's just kinda standing there, not doing or thinking much so no post for him.)

The draeyl fiddled with the left of the two knobs beside the big red button, which opened a menu of all the sylesti species. Turning the knob scrolled through the list, and when it reached luffox, she pressed the right button, which confirmed the choice. She then pressed the large button in the center, and a long line similar to a laser pointer appeared on the floor where the scanner was pointed. The draeyl picked it up. "Close your eyes," she warned the luffox, and when Vilas did so, she ran the red laser line over Vilas several times until the laser turned off and the machine beeped. A list of all genes and mutations appeared on the large screen.
"You have tanuki and spotted civet genes, and bunny tail, chibi antler, and flower vine mutations." The draeyl told Vilas. "And once I press the confirm button, it'll tell me all your colors, too." The draeyl began writing all the information on the form.

Vilas watched and listened, eyes filled with curiosity. With a timid voice, she said, "I wonder how long it took to develop this technology... And how much longer after that it took to make it this simple..." She had expected a blood test, or something that took longer than this, but was happy no needles were involved.

"Huh. That's a neat device. I guess it can tell you more about Vilas than I can when it comes to genetics." Zerial said cheerfully. He was glad to see that Vilas still had her curiosity, even with how much about her has changed.

Alala smiled at Vilas's musing. "If you think about stuff like that, I'm sure you'll make a great scientist," the Lupora said, wagging her tail. When the draeyl pushed the two forms across the desk, Alala put her paw in a ink stamp pad and pressed her paw onto both documents, in a box that read "Official citizen recommendation." She then picked up the pen in one paw and signed her name in cursive.
"Do you want to live in the same apartment?" the draeyl asked the pair, her pen hovering above a line on the forms that read "apt. #."

"Well I guess that is it then. I bid you safe travels my friend." Finian smiled up at her. "Unless of course you wishe to follow us, we could always use a thrift person in our group." He offered though he knew she would most likely deny his offer. Everyone normally did. It was something about the way Aife never talked or something. He would rather have her though than anyone else.

"Really?!" The lunemara asked, her light flaring in excitement. "Really and truly? I'd love to! But are you sure your partner won't mind?" she asked, her blue eyes wide and hopeful. She'd been so lonely for quite some time, as lunemara were very social sylesti that lived together in numbers up to the thousands.

She had said yes? Really? Three sets of eyes were way better than two! "She'll warm up to you, she's just a bit shy. I assure you that she will eventually warm up to you promise." He wagged his tail at her. "We leave the day after tomorrow, leaving one day for rest and packing."

"Yes!" Vilas said quite loudly. After realizing how she said it, she corrected herself, "I mean, uh, yes, please..." She tried her best to ignore her embarrassment, but it was evident from the red hue her nose now held.
(the rest of her face is covered with fur, so nose is the best I could do v.v)

Zerial chuckled and tried to help Vilas a bit by saying, "I'd guess she doesn't want to be separated from her big brother again, so yeah, we'd like the same apartment, please." He gave Vilas a warm smile and she seemed a little less embarrassed.
