"SSSShhhhh" the Doctor said.
He pointed to two tetraps holding three people hostage. The Doctor, Mel, and another person he didn't recognize.

Jade nodded and she frowned. This wasn't ideal for her.

"I wonder who's that third person. We'd better stay out of sight. Those Tetraps don't look happy... I suppose we should just listen in. Quick! Get behind this potted plant!" he said. The two hid behind the potted alien flora, and listened in on the conversation.

"Let me go, I say. I am a Time Lord, a leader of Gallifrey! They will come looking for me, you know!" the Seventh Doctor said to the larger of the three Tetraps.
"The Rani gave me orders. I can't let you go." the Tetrap hissed.
"Oh come on Doctor! It's useless! These bats cannot be persuaded!" Mel cried trying to twist out of the smallest Tetrap's grip.
"What's a bat?" the largest Tetrap asked, scratching its chin. The Doctor yanked his arm from the Tetrap's grip, and whacked it on the head with his umbrella, knocking it out cold. He moved on to the other two and they hurried off.

"What're you looking for, potted pixies?" a voice hissed behind the current Doctor. He felt a pain rush through him as a Tetrap stabbed him in the left heart. The Doctor collapsed on the floor, unconscious.

Jade nodded

The Doctor woke up again, in a different room. He tried to stand up, but a pain seared through his left chest. The Rani stood over him.
"Well, well, what do we have here?" she said with an amused purr.
"You know bloody well, Rani." the Doctor said, a thin trickle of blood dripped down his chin from his mouth. He wiped it away.
"Bloody well! Hahaha! Well, You got half of that right. You are a bit... bloody." she said, indicating the deep wound in the Doctors chest."
"If your stupid Tetrap hadn't stabbed me, I wouldn't be in mass amounts of pain at the present moment."
He looked round the room, his eyes fell upon Jade, who looked terrified.
"A Time Lord can live a few hours without one of their hearts before they either regenerate or die. I am personally hoping for the latter." the Rani smirked.
"It takes a Time Lord a while to bleed to death, so you might as well take a seat, you'll be here for a while, Rani!" the Doctor said, coughing up more blood.
"Oh, I will."

Jade didn't know where she was when she opened her eyes

"Jade? You're okay?" the Doctor rasped.

"Huh?" Jade said looking around.

"Jade, this is the Rani. She's a Time Lady from my home planet, and the one who's making me bleed to death." the Doctor rasped.

"Oh great just wonderful." Jade said sarcastically
