"Ah? A map? Ancient Language? Slow down, small ones!" He said, telling them to stop for a second. "Awrighty, so basically, my stupid grand-daughter took ye map and wants me to translate it?" He summed it all up in a brief sentence.
"Yup!" Star answered, not noticing the fact she was called stupid by her grandfather. "Anyways, can you granpa???" She asked impatiently. The old man only took a small look at the map, and sighed, pushing it away. "Sorry, no can do young'uns." He said, slowly shaking his head sadly in disappointment.
"This old language is out of my limit. I could've translated it, but these signs just don't make sense together. If you REALLY want to know, go ask the woman in the kitchen. She's another translator, far better than me. She's got keen eyes for these kinds of maps." He shooed them back downstairs, and gave star a little push on the back when she left.

Downstairs, with Amber and star's grandmother, the old lady smiled gently to the young girl. "My, it's quite alright." She gestured the girl to sit for a bit. She noticed many bulges out of the black and white girl's back, and guessed it was a large weapon of the sort.
"I see you like objects capable of...attack." The elderly woman said. "So," She continued, sitting down at the table. "How many pets are you bringing along with you on this adventure I heard from Star? I predict at least one of those fancy dragons they newly discovered?" She guessed.

They were shooed back down to the kitchen; and once she was sure everyone else was in the kitchen, she poked her head back in to the Granfather's room. Cranberry straightened up, her wings giving a slow, deliberate flap. She spoke low, so as her voice would not carry into the next room. "She's not stupid." Her eyes suddenly seemed more red than brown; and there was an eerie look to her; as if she might have been dangerous, had she actually been so inclined. But it bothered her that Star's own grandfather would call her stupid. Now, Star was certainly kind of... enthusiastic, very impulsve, and a little airheaded, maybe; but no one could last in a battle like they were just in, if they were honestly and actually stupid. Not thinking ahead and being stupid were two different things; even if the end result was sometimes the same. "And it's pretty cold of you to call her names to her face when she clearly thinks so much of you. If she gets hurt on this adventure, and the last thing she heard you say was that she was stupid, how would you feel then, you nasty old piece of myconid mucus?" Cranberry gave him a cold, hard glare and spun away from him, glad she'd never see him again.
She reappeared in the kitchen with her wings twitching in a fit of temper, remaining otherwise quiet. She folded her arms, her staff tucked under one arm, looking as dark as her coloring seemed to indicate. She seemed to belong in the depths of a perilous dungeon somewhere, not in someone's grandmother's kitchen. "Be careful with the map, Star. I'm trusting you." Because I don't think you're stupid. She added silently. Out loud, she continued. "I'm going to go check on my Sylesties. Knowing Luau, he's found trouble by now." And she headed out the front door, to get further away from Star's grandparents, and also because Lu was probably actually causing mischief by now. Which he was; chasing a brightly colored Aurleon around the yard, trying to catch it. She groaned. "Lu! Luau! Stop that this instant! That is NOT how my Vulnyxes behave!"

Sandy aloud herself to be shooed downstairs again. She leaned against the kitchen wall, silently observing the things around her. 'I hope I don't get into to much trouble by doing this.' She smiled a little bit. 'To much trouble ha, I'm dead. Father will kill me. I will never hear the end of this.' She shook her head. 'Oh well' She looked at Star's grandmother, waiting for the translation.

Amber blushed a little, it seems her sword would not let itself be hidden.
'Well I like being able to defend myself. I travel a lot and visit many places, some more dangerous then others. As for my pets, I am bringing the 3 I have currently with me.''
She pointed at her Zolnixi.
'' My close and old friend Black the zolnixi. His full name is BlackDevil but he is to nice to be a devil so I call him Black.'
She then pointed to her Lupora.
'Nameless, because he is picky with names and doesn't have one. He is newer and I am bringing him along to give him some extra experience.'
'And yes I also am bringing a Ny'Vene with me. But he is known for having a .. uhm .. 'temper' so I am keeping him in the sky when around others for now. No need to worry though. He won't harm anyone or destroy anything as long as I am around.'
She felt she had to say that last part not wanting to worry the lady. Balerion did cause some serious panic and destruction when he was wild.
Then she heard the others come back. She smiled at them. So did Black. Nameless still looked annoyed at everything.

"Oh don't worry about star." The woman winked at amber while whispering. "She's a lover for all pet species, in case you haven't seen already." She then turned to the other young girls who entered the room.
"Now what would you young lasses like?" She said.

Amber's eyes twinkeld in amusement. Yes she had noticed. Still she daubted that her Ny'Vene would share that sentiment with the energetic girl. He might though. He warmed up to her, Nameless and Black as well after all.
'If it's alright, I would prefer to hear what the elderly man had to say, though I would be happy with a glass of water as well.'
Amber noticed that she was a bit thirsty, she didn't have anything to drink sind's she woke up this morning.
Nameless was still looking annoyed at the girls, and their sylesties. Why was Amber even considering going on this quest anyway. She had gold and treasures enough from her earlyer quests. And the place they where going wasn't even new. She had been there before a few years ago.... Nameless did not understand at all. He just hoped his owner would come to her senses and leave these idiots before she became infected by them.
Black on the other hand was looking foreward to it. These girls seemed nice and brave. They would do Amber good. Black looked amused at Namless. Oh Nameless, you still have great deal to learn . Is what he was thinking.

(sry was gone for a bit)
Kinuna, realizing everyone as gone chased them to the one place she could think of: town.
In town she just saw some familiar faces go into a building.
"Oowah I was left behind" she said scrutinizing her face. (>.< )

When she had finally gotten Luau to stop chasing the Aurleon, and pondered training him in intelligence a little more, maybe, she sighed and her wings drooped a little. This adventure was not off to a very good start. Her map had been taken, they were at the house of dreadful people who called their granddaughters names in front of their friends; and what had happened to that vulnyx girl? She hadn't been in the kitchens. Cranberry looked up then, and spotted her. She waved to her, to encourage her to come over. She looked down then, with the feeling that someone was watching her. It turned out to be Solstice, the vulnyx whose fur matched her clothes and hair. His scarlet gaze was fixed on her.
"What?" She asked him, suddenly feeling terribly guilty. "I'll get it back." But he continued to stare. "Gran'ther's map is just fine. Star won't allow anything to happen to it." The vulnyx slowly blinked, and Cranberry fidgeted. "These are good people. Its a good team. We'll do amazing." And then Solstice looked to Luau, and then back to Cranberry. The fairy sighed. "Okay, okay. You have a point. But he's stronger than you are, and we will need power. What... you think I should have brought Nova and Umbra, don't you." Solstice casually licked his paw. "No. I know you want to go on a mission with your kittens, and they're great warriors. But this is not that mission." He continued to lick at his paw, and then rubbed his face. Cranberry briefly wondered if she was crazy, talking to her vulnyx the way she did. Maybe she just had her own doubts about the mission, and she was projecting that onto Solstice. And then Luau tried to catch his own tail, and she shook her head. Maybe Luau wasn't the best choice for the mission after all...
And then she looked up to see if Kinuna had come over or not, and she wondered what was taking this translation so long.

Makenna sighed as she finished off a simple belt buckle for a customer that had requested she come all the way to Esior's Haven. Of course, she didn't mind traveling, but if she had known it was just a belt buckle, she would have made it at her home and brought it here. That would of given her time to travel back home than stay at Esior's Inn for the night. She could travel when it was dark, of course, but she had chosen not to due to the increase of bandits around here.
After looking down at her faithful Bulbori, who was softly sleeping in a ball of red and white fur, a smile pushed it's was across her lips. He looks so innocent like that....Perhaps too innocent...
She looked around at the small smith's shop she had asked permission to use to craft the buckle. Wouldn't it just of been easier if her client had asked for the Esior's smith to do it...? People were always doing this to her...Asking her to travel to their towns when they had a perfectly suitable craftsmith around. She assumed it was due to her fairly low prices, though it was mostly for her amazing skills.
After checking again that the buckle had no flaws, she nudge Juno with her foot. He jumped up, looking around with a growl. Soon, he calmed down once he realized that no one was around. "Come on darlin'..." She whispered, walking out the door. He sped up beside her, looking around curiously. She had wrapped the buckle with a cloth to avoid an fingerprints.
She held the buckle gently in her hand as she walked nearer to a dark fairy. Her gaze flicked in her direction for a moment before she past by, going to the home beside her.

Cranberry stood waiting for the vulnyx girl to rejoin the group, and gave the elf a nod in greeting as she passed by, admiring her green hair; she'd always wished her hair was green, or blue, or anything but the scarlet hue that her family was known for. And in the next instant, Luau Eclipse was darting past her, tearing over the ground as if he were flying, paws barely touching the earth in a pink and grey blur, his wide jeweled collar jangling as he ran. He was running after the elf's bulbori, though Cranberry had no idea what he'd do if he caught it. He'd never actually caught anything, but just to be on the safe side, she didn't want to let him.
"Oh no." And she began chasing him for the second time, her impatience with the translators inside the house momentarily forgotten. "Luau! Bulboris are not for chasing, either!"
Lu was not listening. He had almost caught up to the rabbit-sylestie, with a distressed looking dark fairy on his heels, her wings flapping hard to carry her just a little faster than she could run though not quite as fast as a determined Vulnyx could run. She didn't want him to get kicked in the face by a bulbori, again. He'd been out of commission for a week the last time. And apparently he had learned nothing from the experience.
"Green-eyes! Watch out for your bulbori!" She yelled to the elf girl, hoping to attract her attention or the bulbori's attention so that he could defend himself.
