Chosen Pride: DarkRunes Pride

Pride Leader AND second in command Name/Gender: The pride leader is Wu (Female), and the second in command is Yin (Male). Wu is short for Wy (), which is midnight in Chinese, and Yin is short for Ynyng (), which is shadow in Chinese.

Distinctive trait(s) of the pride: Members of the DarkRunes Pride have thick, but short fur that is usually of a dark color. This fur is usually surprisingly soft, and helps muffle the sound of DarkRunes pride members brushing up against anything. However, this happens rarely, as most members of the DarkRunes pride are especially sly and lithe. The members of the DarkRunes pride often train one of two different ways. The first is to become as sly, lithe, and stealthy as possible; these types of attackers are usually called scouts. The second is more of a tank/hard hitter. Although the tank will be sneaky at times, they often focus on attacking once with great force, while the scout will attack multiple times while evading their opponents attacks. The objective of the scout is to ware down their opponent, while receiving no damage themselves.

General attitude of pride members: Members of the DarkRunes pride are mostly on the introverted side of the spectrum. They are generally quiet while interacting with other prides; this does not mean thought, that they are shy. In fact, most of the DarkRunes pride members become chatterboxes when alone with those of their pride. They just don't trust members of other prides, and do not wish to interact with them; they are perfectly happy with their current lives, and changing is not on their bucket list.

Backstory of pride leader, second in command or, pride:

Backstory of the leader of pride: Wu has been leader of the DarkRunes pride for many years, and has seen many members of her pride grow strong, and then say their final words before her. She knows the territory like the back of her paw, and has witnesses its boundaries shift back and forth over the many years that she has lived. No one quite knows how old she is, but she is still strong and fit for her age. Not to mention, she is more wise then any of her fellow members, but she struggles to find what she sees fit as a good replacement for her. It is not that members of her pride could not be trained to fit the role, but most of those she picks die before they have the chance to become leader. However, she has her hopes in her new second in command, Yin. He is lithe, yet strong and seems to understand the importance of wisdom as well as fitness. He is young, but is a quick learner, and with her help, perhaps he can amount to something great.

Backstory of the second in command of pride: Yin is young for a second in command of a pride, and this causes much controversy over whether or not his is eligible to do what he must. However, with his wise leader supporting him, no one has voiced an official complaint yet. Yin was rather stunned when his leader announced that he would be her successor, shall she pass to the afterworld, and has no idea why he was picked instead of some of the more senior members of the pride. He trusts in his leader to make the correct decision, and has learned much since his advancement of status in the pride. As long as he has lived, balance has ruled his life, and he struggles to find justice in the world of life. Perhaps, he will one day learn that life is not fair, and that in certain casses one must use skill to survive instead of diplomacy.

Backstory of pride: It was eons ago that the DarkRunes pride was truthfully extroverted. Of course there were the few exceptions, but for the most part they were happy to interact with other prides. As you know it is not the same at the moment, so when did it all change? What caused such a dramatic change to occur? The answer has been smudged and distorted by the hands of time, but here is the gist of it: Many years ago the DarkRunes pride lived in a place not quite different from their current habitat, but this place was special to them; more special than their current home. This place was where they were able to connect with their gods and goddesses, their ancestors, and be guided by those long past from birth to death. They lived behind a waterfall that looked like liquid stars when the moon's light hit it properly. The waterfall ended in a swirling pool clear as glass. Every full moon the moons light would strike the waterfall and transform it into a miracle of dreams. Then members of the pride would gather to lap at the pools water and ask for guidance from those of another world. At some point in time, another pride came to their territory, the members of DarkRunes pride had never heard of them, and so assumed that they were friends. They invited the travelling pride to stay in their territory for a while, but when they saw the happenings of the full moon, they asked if they could lap at the pools surface. At first the members of DarkRunes pride were skeptical, but as they saw no harm to it, they allowed the event to occur. When the leader of the other pride lapped at the pools water, he was able to get advice from his ancestors on how to overthrow the DarkRunes pride leader, and steal their territory. He initiated this plan, but the DarkRunes pride caught them halfway through, and were able to stop him from taking control of their territory. However, in the process of saving themselves their territory was destroyed, and it is now a barren and dry land. The DarkRunes pride has not trusted another pride fully since then, and may never do so.

Other: As far as the environment is concerned, I was thinking of a mountainous forest sort of thing. Like this is absolutely amazing:

Tianzi Mountains. The waterfall could be hidden in the mist. Or this:

Yangshuo Mountains. Some place relatively cold, but with no snow. Trees for shade, but mountains because they are mysterious. O.o

What distinctive traits does this pride have?: Dark coat colors with bright markings to match the exotic flowers that dot the dark jungle.

General attitude of pride members: Fairly calm and cooperative overall amongst each other, yet the leader of the Pride believes her second in command is too soft towards the others.

Any back story of the pride or pride/leader?: The pride is deep in the jungle far from any other pride, founded by their current leader Mia Lura The older lioness was once an out cast from one of the forest prides, but she founded her own price deep in the heart of the jungle. the pride has always been kind and soft spoken not causing trouble, yet is feared by all because they are so mysterious. the second in command is a kitten that Mia found stranded and abandoned in the jungle, and named her Lyra, raising her as her own. Lyra is the kindest of all of the lionesses in the pride, yet she is the fiercest warrior.
