Mako hadn't even thought of that. He jaw hurt a bit from where he bit around the net at the human. "I'm fine. I might have lost a tooth though." He heard the humans getting closer. He crouched ready to bolt at them when they open his box. "Get ready." He said right before growling again. The footsteps stopped and the humans started talking again. He was a little worried with how they sounded.

Click!

Sunlight suddenly flooded the dim back of the van. It bounced off of the metallic walls and poured itself into the boxes. Terra, smelling the humans no more than two feet away, prepared to leap, tightening the muscles in her hind legs and lowering her upper back. Her muddy brown ear twitched as Mako shifted in his crate, most likely slipping into a similar position. There was a dull tap as the two humans grasped the crates, and Terra grew confused. "Mako, the doors aren't opening," she barked softly. She grew shaky in her position as the crate began to wobble in the human's hands, now off of the van's floor. She readjusted her stance so that she could peer out of one of the crate's three holes. There was more concrete on the ground, with metal vehicles frozen in place all over the grey expanse. Bushes lined the concrete. Trees loomed in the distance.

The light became less intense as a brick structure entered Terra's small field of view. Now, the stench of sylesti occupied her attention.

Mako fell in his box when it moved. The man must have picked his up because the woman had seemed a little more careful to him. He smelled more Sylesties in the hall in the strange building. He heard the humans talking. "Terra can you see anything?" He asked not seeing anything from the bottom of his crate. They stopped and the humans set down the crates. Mako waited while they talked. He heard them say something about food and male. He saw the crate start to open and he bolted out hoping to get away. He was in a strange place that looked nothing like outside. He jumped around the room hoping to get away from the humans that were chasing him around.

"Terra, can you see anything?"

"..."

Terra kept her gaze trained at the hole in the box nearest to her head. Perfectly smooth sea green walls stared back at her. As the fear of the unknown environment set in, Terra's adrenaline began to spike again, and she became overwhelmed by the massive sensory intake that came with it. The scents of so many different sylesti entered her nostrils; lupora, sylvorpa, and other zolnixi like herself. Something smelled like a mix between grain and meat, both nauseating and hunger-inducing at the same time. She felt her tongue loll out of her mouth slightly, and drool drip down her chin. How long had it been since she ate that bone of old meat? How long had it been since Mako ate?! Her ears almost exploded as her wobbly crate passed a room of luporas, barking, whining, growling, and yipping all at once. Their exact words all escaped Terra through the piecing roar of their hundreds of conversations.

Thunk

The vibrations of her crate being set onto the floor nearly made Terra's heart explode, it scared her so much. Her heightened senses had both connected and distracted her from her plight. Another soft tapping noise, followed by claws sliding across stone tiles, informed Terra that Mako had been freed from his confinement. She had no guess as to why, nor any idea how she could possibly escape from the sensorially overstimulating labyrinth if her box's door did fly open. What Mako was thinking, Terra had no clue. Who knew if he had been thinking at all...?

Mako was tired and was running out of ideas. He looked back at the humans and looked ahead of himself just in time to know that he was running into Terra's box. He hit it hard and just laid there. He wasn't getting out so he just gave up. He felt one of the humans pick him up and put him down on a high up platform. His vision blurred a little and he blacked out.

(For girl catcher perspective if you don't mind! ^^) She wasn't sure what was getting into the little guy. He looked like a skeleton with a fur pleat which made her worry. She bent down to the other box. The male had gone to great lengths to protect this female. She couldn't help but wonder why. She put her hand into the crate and wrapped it around the small female. She pulled her out and held her tightly and walked her over to the counter. "Is that a good idea?" Her colleague asked her. He had been a trapper before and she didn't like how he handled the animals. She put the chocolate colored zolnixi down next to the red one. "If your girlfriend got hurt would you want to sit with her?" She turned on him. She wondered if she was right about them. She didn't know their ages yet but she couldn't help but wonder.

Terra, now having completely lost hope of getting out of this situation, allowed the female human to pick her up. She assumed an almost noodle-like state; too tired and confused to even attempt breaking from the furless human paws. She flopped onto her side once placed next to Mako, resting her head on her paws and observing his skeletal frame; trying to focus on it instead of the whining lupora being led on a leash right outside the door. She grabbed Mako's bandana in her teeth, slipped it off of her neck, and sat it expectantly next to Mako. He continued to lay motionless.

Terra became frustrated with the situation immediately. She was annoyed by the piercing gaze of the humans, the state that Mako was in, and generally being confused by the strange human's ways. Trying to solve one of her problems and get the gazes off of her back, Terra leapt from the metal desk onto the tile flooring with a click, and proceeded to hide under the metal desk, wrapping one of her tails around one of the desk's back legs. She shut her eyes, trying to pretend that she was anywhere but the building full of noisy sylesti and weird smelling food.

The woman smiled at Terra's antics. She loved how she tried blocking everyone out. The woman looked over at Mako and carefully picked him up. She crawled under the desk with him carefully. "Hey girl. Do you know if he's okay?" She asked thinking she might get her attention.

Mako stirred a bit but didn't rise.

Terra's ear twitched as a human's hand brushed fur and a creak sounded from the metal table. Cracking one eye slightly open, Terra saw the human lowering herself next to her, holding Mako limply in her hands. She shut her yes again, trying desperately to not pay any attention to the goings on, but failed. There was just too much scent here, too much to see, and too much to hear. In defeat, she tilted her head toward Mako, wondering what the human was doing with his lifeless looking body. When the human shifted herself closer to Terra, Terra flinched, and Mako's mouth ungracefully fell open from the human's movement. His row of somewhat stained teeth became invisible again as his head fell forward and his jaw shut.

The woman pulled herself slowly out form under the table. "You want to come see the rest of this place?" She asked opening the baby gate next to the desk and stepped out of it and aside to let Terra out a bit more comfortably. She carefully moved Mako to where if he woke up he wouldn't be able to do to much harm to her. "Are you mad?!" The man yelled slamming the gate closed before Terra could get out. The woman glared at him and opened the gate again. "No, She couldn't leave even if she wanted to, which I don't think she does, at least not without him." She reached over the waist high fence and picked up the small green bandana.

(Not really much I can think of doing here...)

As the gate opened, Terra's eyes narrowed, darting between the humans and the open hallway, then to Mako. Ahh, moral dilemmas.

Maybe I can escape through there.
But what about Mako?
Screw him, he's a zolnixi that I just met.
I probably only have a few seconds until the female realizes her mistake...
If I want to escape, I should do it NOW.

Well, that was decided.

Terra's claws skidded across the floor as she bolted toward the open gate, feet flying out behind her. The traction was poor on the tiles (probably another human trap) and she nearly fell in her mad dash toward the opening multiple times. As she ran through the gate, the male human made a horrible grunting sound, then shouted something in human-speak to the female. Door after door whizzed by. She didn't even slow down for a turn, ending up in a heap on the floor, her head spinning. Footsteps pounded behind her.

As she gained her footing again and gazed around the corner, bright sunlight made her squint. She was staring into a concrete field surrounded by luscious dormant grass and a few glorious under-watered yellow bushes. At the time, it looked like paradise. Terra ran as quickly as she could toward the beautiful outdoors, only to- bang!

Smash into an invisible wall.
