(Posting time!)

"Idiot," said Orion, in a soft tone. "Why would I want to leave my only friend like this? I want to help." He stood up, and held out a hand to her. "Stand up," he said, firmly, but kindly. Those stupid kids at the village. This is all their fault! This is why she's like this right now. "Jora, don't listen to what they say to you. You already did something right. Lots of things," he said, coming up with a list in his head.

Jora shook her head against her skirt. She really didn't know why he was being this nice. "Why?" She choked out quietly. The smoke was making her a little hoarse. She turned her head to the side and moved one of her arms and put it on the ground. She leaned her cheek on her knees and started pulling at the charred grass.

"Why what?" Orion asked. He hated to see her liked this. She looked so miserable. He suddenly kneeled on the ground beside Jora and hugged her. He hoped she didn't mind, but he knew his sister would have done the same in this situation, and he trusted her judgement.

(Sorry for the shortness. I would have probably ended up doing the same as Orion in this situation. XD)

Jora didn't have any clue how it was possible for someone to be so nice. She just sat there and leaned into his hug. "Why do you want me to stand up?" She said quietly. Her voice was already getting better but she still smelled the smoke even though she couldn't see it. She pulled up more grass and stared at it. Why couldn't she control the fire? Everyone else she knew could but why not her? She always burnt everything.

(And her thoughts going into random places that have nothing to do with the matter at hand like mine do a lot! XD)

"I don't really know," admitted Orion, feeling stupid for asking her to stand up. "Where you hearing voices again?" Orion asked, remembering the other time he had seen Jora act like that. I don't really have that happened, except when I am falling asleep occasionally. He thought, remembering when he couldn't fall asleep because of the insults echoing in his head. More like insult. All they called me was Crybaby. Which was true, and still is. Jora's going to figure that out at some point. He turned his thoughts from himself to her, feeling selfish for thinking about himself at that moment.

Jora slid out of his hug smiling a little. Her head was still pounding a little from the voices. "Yeah... Thanks for the hug, I needed it." She said blushing looking away at the grass. She pulled her feet under her and pulled at the grass holding some up to look at the burnt marks more easily. "Why don't I have control?" She asked herself so quietly she barely heard it.

Orion only heard Jora because they were still pretty close. He blushed and answered her question. "You're not the only one. And it just takes practice," he said, half-hoping she wouldn't question what he meant by 'you're not the only one'. He sat down on the grass, watching Jora for her reply.

Jora snapped her head to look at him. She blushed and pulled her hair behind her ear. "I didn't think I said that out loud..." She shook her head. "And I doubt you're thinking of what I was talking about..." She leaned back on her hands and looked at the sky. She squinted a bit at the sun. She sighed as a hawk flew over head. She wished she could fly.

Orion squinted up at the hawk. "Wait a sec..." he rustled around in his bag, and pulled out a leather armguard.He slipped in on and whistled. The hawk soared down to land on his outstretched arm. "Yes!" he shouted, scaring the hawk slightly. "It's my sister's hawk," he explained to Jora. The bird flapped it's wings irritably. "Geez, I'll get it," Orion mumbled, fumbling for the tupe on the hawk's leg. "Want to pet him?" he asked Jora, as he fumbled to open the container with one hand.

(Weird hawk plot twist. And way off topic. XD)

Jora stood up and stared at the bird. She couldn't hep but run and get her sketchbook. She came back and stood only a few inches from it. "I've seen hundreds but never this close..." She said quietly looking the bird in the eye.
