1) The lab has no access to the outside world because of it being in the middle of a tropical forest and that being surrounded by a large desert you would die in before reaching anywhere else
2) Some are locked up for research but apart from them Deaths can roam free
3) No, the creature death is taken from does not become a Death...it just can't die from old age or illnesses but can die from dehydration and starvation ( due to not all of the death being removed...which is kind of impossible...)
