Tails tried to play it off, "I'm good."
The coyote pup nodded and strecthed out it's broken leg even though it hurt.

Knuckles inspected it, then ran off. "Don't move a muscle, I'll be right back!"
Sonic frowned. "Don't lie to me."

"I feel guilty alright every time I turn the machine on it backfires and hurts someone. I shoulda never built it." Tails confessed.
The coyote whimpered and Espio tried to comfort it.

Sonic hopped up onto a rock and gestured for Tails to do the same. "It's not the first time an invention backfired. Heh, remeber when you first tried the Chaos Drive on the Tornado?" He chuckled at the memory, then got serious again. "Don't beat yourself up over it, okay?"

"Oh I remember but no one got hurt with that invention except me." Tails pointed out.

"But you worried the same way. Like I said, don't beat yourself up over it. That little coyote's gonna be fine." Sonic assured him.

Tails nodded, "I can't rebuild the machine though."
Espio smiled a little.

Knuckles returned promptly with some supplies for a makeshift splint, though he growlwe when he saw Eapio's expression.

"Maybe not rebuild.... But how about improvising it?" Sonic suggested. "Like, take the concept and supplise but doing something different?"

"I'm only smiling cause Tails agreed the invention was too dangerous." Espio held the pup.
"Maybe but unlikely." Tails spoke, "I'm stumped for this problem."

Sonic flicked an ear. "Tails, hush. I won't stand for nay-saying. Repeat after me: I, Miles 'Tails' Prower, am awesome, and I'm gonna figure this out."

Knuckles shook his head and set to work on the coyote's leg.
