Selkie took a nervous breath, "Is it the only option?"

"The only one we came up with, I'm afraid." Kaladin admitted. "Locke said tunder would be the most noticable, But I suppose changing the wind would work as well... why?"

"No reason just curious." Selkie lied.

"Since we're talking about it, I suppose I will ask you; Do you think you could try it now?" Kaladin suggested.

Selkie looked away, "I could try."
He tried to summon up a thundercloud to no avail. Selkie kept trying for even the slightest breeze again nothing except for the waves trying to do what he asked. Selkie panted but kept going the waves getting bigger and stronger by the second.

Skipper ran down the steps, "Knock it off the waves are bigger than the ship! Stop them or they'll sink us!"
Selkie panted and stopped his energy spent, "Sorry Kaladin I've only ever been able to control water only once air." There were tears in his eyes.

Kaladin exhaled softly. "Chaos... that might be a problem... not an unsolveable one, I'm sure, but a problem."

Skipper stood behind Kaladin "Come on best not to dwell on the inevitable."
Selkie sat against the wall of his cell, his eyes full of pain and sorrow.

Kaladin resisted the urge to make a smart remark. Instead he asked; "What's inevitable about this?"

"Only one out of a thousand that can only control one is safe from the madness if they learn to control their power fully. That is the myth it isn't true once you are stuck controling one the madness grabs you and takes who you were turning you against who you care about." Skipper explained.
"I would never do that." Selkie protested.
"Neither would Bella."
"Bella?"
"Come on Kaladin." Skipper nudged Kaladin toward the steps.

When Skipper nudged him, Kaladin looked over his shoulder at him with an ember concealed behind his eyes. "Skipper, I highly suggest you don't touch a quilled creature with your bare hands in the future."
