Kate watched and listened, her arms folded tightly over her chest.

Sapphire tried to hide behind Kate's legs as she looked in fright at the older angry hybrid. "D...eeee?"

D payed the little one no mind. She pinned Luke to the chair as the man yelped in pain. "I am not an animal!" her voice wavered, as if she didn't fully believe it. He tried to shove her away but couldn't. "Then what are you?! A monster?!"

Kate picked Sapphire up, checking the hallways. This loud arguing probably wasn't doing them any good. She turned back to Luke. "No! She's a human like you and me! And if you can't see that, then maybe you're the monster here!"

"She shouldn't even exist! How on earth is she half dragon if she's not a monster!?" He huffed, gritting his teeth in pain as D held his shoulders harshly to the chair. She was shaking from holding back any further anger.

Sapphire cuddled into Kate, sniffling softly. "P .... eee...sss....s....ooo...p!" She tried to beg 'please stop'.

Kate glanced down at Saph. "What do you mean 'shouldn't exist'? I don't see why she shouldn't. Just because she's different doesn't mean anything. Would you say that about someone who had physical or mental disabilities?"

"Dragons aren't real! That's how she's impossible!" D flinched.

"If dragons aren't real, how does she exist today, huh?"

"I don't know, that's why she and Four are being studied."

Sapphire didn't like this. The fighting. She sniffled and started crying softly.

"Studied? You mean trapped. Held against their will." She silenced once she heard Saph begin to cry

"They have no will, we've had then since they where three and four!" Luke said.

D let Luke go, now clearly feeling horrible that Saph was crying.

The little one tried to hide against Kate as she shook with little sobs.
