"Talyn!" I call to her. "Get some water and a cool towel, please? The girl might be in shock. If she is, and she stays in shock any longer, she might die." I crouch down to her level, placing my hand on her shoulder. "Are you okay?"

She shudders and whimpers, trying to move away from your hand.

I look back, wondering where Talyn was with the supplies. "You're okay, you're safe... they won't get you again." I murmur softly into her ear, rubbing circles in her back with my hands. I look at Tiff. "Got any bubble wrap she can pop to calm down?"

What? Bubble wrap has been scientifically proven to be able to help with stress.
I continue rubbing her back with one hand, gently stroking her head with my other hand. "It's fine, everything is okay... you're a strong one, pull through, they won't find you here... we'll protect you."

The girl cries silently until she falls into a deep sleep.

"I think we still need it." I say quietly as to not disturb the girl's sleep. "She'll still be agitated when she wakes up. If not bubble wrap, get a smooth and round rock or something. Something that will help relieve her stress. I think she's been through a lot."

Okay. Tiff says. Then she walks silently out of the room.

All she could think was, He's cute. But she stared back at him.
