(there is a difference between the legit strongman tank of the group and then literally godmodding your way out of any possible situation. Let me pose you an example.

So in my own Discord sci-fi group, we have a tank character who is meant to be incredibly strong (being the legit avatar of an elder god). He's also of a species of alien that is incredibly durable (similar to cockroaches). He's fell stories out a building before and lived, albeit with major wounding.
Here is the kicker though. He's mortal. Even in armor, it can break, weapons can break, and his shadow powers can be exploited. He has clearly defined drawbacks that the player has outlined (for example not being able to see through his own darkness and being dangerously reckless and not willing to play well with his teammates)
I, as a DM, do not need to essentially metagame and pull things out of thin air specifically to have this character face any amount of danger. Because despite all his power and strength he lends to the group, he's still vulnerable to common threats.

Now if he was godmodding and attempting to powerplay, he'd probably tell me something like no, bullets don't work on him because he has this magical armor from Narnia that protects him from everything but a magic bullet enchanted with the power of souls or something, knowing full well there's no such enemy in this universe that would wield that type of weapon.
It's essentially limiting what I can do to actually make that character face any danger whatsoever because he's immune to everything.)

(He can be beaten by bullets, but it takes a lot. Thing is, the AI could easily enslave Saras. He's extremely exposed to EMPs, as he has no sheilding, ans, though he can fly, he's currently very low on fuel. He can uae it to get back to where the top of the hotel had been, but then he would be out of fuel. He simply is careful, and doesn't risk his armor. Remember the Umbra fight? He is still vulnerable to steel weapons when they hit right. Think of it as basically an AC of 21.)

He laughed, holding onto a spot on his chest where his armor had broken away that seemed to be dripping black ooze onto the grass.
He didn't want to say anything to her, but he just gave her a smile. "I'll.. try. No promises."
He flicked his tail away.
"Didn't mean to though. Just.. didn't want anything to happen to you. You know that."
