"Makes sense." Luna followed Rookie.


Ajal was trying not to make Knuckles any angier because he remembered what the mobian that trained him after Ajal's mentor died was like.
"C..ha..os .con..trol." Ajal studdered.
Nothing happened.

Knuckles leaned up against one of the wrecked buildings. "It doesn't believe you." He said dryly, gesturing to the Chaos Emerald. "Say it and mean it."

Ajal nodded and whispered under his breath. "Come on I'm trying not to anger him. Chaos control."
Nothing happened again.

Knuckles sighed and summoned his Choas Emerald. "Chaos Control!" He commanded. There was a flash, and when it cleared, the echidna was on the platform. With a nod, he glided back down to Ajal. "Well, go on then,"

"Chaos control." Ajal said.
Nothing again.
"You outta jiuce or something?" Ajal lightly shook the chaos emerald.
The chaos emerald zapped him hard burning his paw.
"Ow okay I deserved that one but please just this once get me to the pylon." Ajal had kept his grip on the chaos emerald. "Chaos control."
Nothing happened.
"Oh come on first time you chaos controled me off the island then into a boulder and I don't remeber the rest but please just this once. Chaos control pylon." Ajal tried again.
Nothing

Knuckles walked up to him. "May I?" He asked, gesturing to the Chaos Emerald.

Ajal handed Knuckles the chaos emerald.

Knuckles nodded once, and held the gemstone on both hands, eyes closed, head lowered....

Ajal backed up a step unsure of what was going to happen.

When he finally looked up again, his eyes had a dim purple glow to them, which quickly faded away when he blinked. "You know..." He started. "...These things' power are amplified by emotion. Rage and fear can be dangerous, but determination, courage, and compassion are easliy bridled into something special."
