By the time Val gets to where the duo had been there were only a mix of four different tracks three of which belonged to horses. Drops of blood were also on the ground signaling that the group had been running from someone or something.

"Oh no," Maverick muttered. "Follow those tracks, girl." Val does so, galloping in the tracks

The tracks told the story of an injured horse, Loki, Desta, and another unknown horse. The tracks seemingly vanished after a quarter mile.

This worried Maverick. Where had they gone? Was it a demon horse that got to them?

A quiet shuffle could be heard off the path. The blood spatters had grown in size and srank in distance in between drops.

Maverick bit his lip, a bad habit he should break. "Loki? Desta?" He murmured softly

A horse's silhouette could be seen off the path. It looked toward Maverick and Val as it stood in the sunlight making it hard to distinguise it's features.

"Loki?" He asked, getting off Val. "Where's Desta?"

The figure didn't move as Maverick got off Val but there was something oviously not right.

He figured that Loki was just acting weird because of the loss of blood. He slowly approached the horse
