Kate's breath hitched, and not in a good way. She thought that D was going to kill Luke. Her throat opened once she saw what D was actually doing, and she was very relieved.

She better be because the hybrids tail was twitching even though she was careful with Luke's burns. She soon placed him on the bed and positioned him, mostly because he'd passed out. She huffed, smelling the burnt flesh and blood under a lot of effort to clean himself up.

If D could smell it, so could Sapphire. That's why she was still crying, sweet little tears becoming small pearls tinted faint blue.

Kate was still trying to calm Sapphire

Sapphire cuddled into Kate, making some sounds that where efforts to word her worries about her friend Luke.

D slipped out of the room and closed the door, she clearly didn't like having had to do that.

It definitely must've taken a lot of willpower to help the enemy. Kate held Saph, continuing with the comforting words

Heck yeah, it had. She so wanted to rip him to shreds and bury his peices so far apart that even D couldn't track them down again.

Saph soon calmed, breathing only hitching in hiccups.

Kate stopped talking, only holding Saph, torn two ways. D hated Luke's guts, but to Sapphire, he was her best friend

D did hate Luke's guts, she wanted to rip them apart and strewn them everywhere.

Saph trusted Luke and cared about him. It hurt her to see Luke in pain.

It satisfied D a bit to see what had happened to Luke, she could be cruel sometimes.

Well, karma had come for him, that's for sure. Maybe if he hadn't ever tasered D none of this would've happened.

Yeah, Karma had come at him strong. And if he'd not tasered D, things would have been different between the two. D would have avoided harming Luke during her escape but he would have still been hurt due to letting her get away. But it wouldn't have been as bad for sure.
