"Thank you," she whispered before returning to the door

D nodded, still staying put.

Luke was now leaning on the door frame, Sapphire tugging on his pant legs but that only made him wince because the fabric pulled at flesh that had dried from having sorta melted into the fabric.

Yeah, that would be painful. "You can stay in the guest bedroom." She and D would sleep in her room for the duration of Luke's stay. If D wanted to, of course. She wasn't sure what to do with Sapphire

Well she probably didn't have to worry about the tiny hybrid, she was clinging to Luke like glue.

He gave a nod. "Okay." He murmured, head clearly foggy.

"It's the door near the living room, over there," she said, pointing to the door

He looked up with exhausted eyes and nodded, starting forward best he could with Sapphire clinging painfully to his left leg.

"Hey, Sapphire?" She called out to the little dragon hybrid. "I think that Luke needs some time to himself."

Sapphire sniffled but nodded, patting Luke's leg before letting go. He gave a small smile to try and reassure Saph but it didn't work well because ... he sorta had to lean on a wall a bit. That clearly pained him because his burns where everywhere. She whimpered, but didn't touch him.

Kate tried to comfort Sapphire the best she could, trying to tell her he would be okay. It was hard to sound convincing when you didn't even believe it yourself.

Yeah, so the little hybrid started crying softly.

D heard Saph crying and did something only Kate or Saph could get her to do. She came over and went right up to Luke, actually taking most his weight and leading him to the guest room as she'd heard he was going to. She had learned to listen. Luke was confused but to hazy and close to passing out to rebel or anything.
