A guard in the back of the group heard it and turned around, leading his horse after her horse. He soon catches up to it and is able to grab it's reigns, pulling it to a halt. He waits for her to catch up before giving her the reigns.

(We time skipped 10 years, Lucia and Caspian are no longer mates, she is also not queen anymore. She lives in the neighboring territory with her brother as a princess. Caspian has become much nicer and has changed a lot. At the moment Caspian is riding through the forest with a group of guards and Lucia is retrieving her horse in Caspian's territory.)

Near Caspian, some bushes rustled, and it was so soft only Caspian could hear it.

He wouldn't have heard it anyway, a large group of sprinting horses passed the bushes, their ears full of the sound of horses hooves hitting the ground.
