Ravenstar knew what had happened before he had seen Burrshadow's body. He also realized Jaypaw had snuck out of camp and at once leaped down from the ledge. He sprinted out in the middle of camp, holding back a wail from the grief of losing his close friend, once fellow apprentice, and deputy. "Where is she?" He managed. "And where is Jaypaw? Can someone tell me what happened?"

SorrowPaw poked her head out of the apprentice den and walked up to RavenStar, limping slightly from the minor bite on her leg. "Three dogs attacked, we chased them out, but one of them had gotten OtterHeart so BurrShadow saved him by sacraficing herself. JayPaw is in the apprentice den." she said looking at the body of BurrShadow that lay on the ground a few fox tails away. "She was the only fatality."

He ran over to the deputy and dropped onto the ground, pressing his nose into her fur. "She's with Starclan now.." he managed, his eyes clouded with grief. His voice turned to a growl as he said: "Tell Jaypaw I need to talk to him after this. And I shall appoint a new deputy before moonhigh, as is our custom."

SorrowPaw nodded and went into the apprentice den. "JayPaw, RavenStar wants to talk to you." she said softly

Berrykit
"Badgerkit,as your brother can't talk,can you tell me about yourselves.I mean,what happened,where are your parents""Our parents our Snowfur and Ravenstar!"Duskkit interrupted "I didn't ask you!"Berrykit growled and turned to Badgerkit for an answer

Jaypaw's tail twitched, but he got up. He seemed quiet and slow, which was understandable when you lost your deputy and mentor. Jaypaw left the apprentice den, knowing he deserved whatever he got. He flicked his torn ear, walk past Sorrowpaw and approached Ravenstar. "If only I had gotten there sooner. I had a feeling something bad would happen, so I snuck out." Jaypaw said, disappointed with himself. If only he was faster...

SorrowPaw sat down and examined her leg, it didn't look to deep, or bad, just puncture wounds

Ravenstar flicked his tail, instructing Jaypaw to pay his respects first before they spoke. He turned back to Burrshadow and pressed his nose back into her fur. He closed his eyes to hide the clouded look from his clanmates.
